Travel tantrums: Relive the most explosive airport and
T

Between the recent spike in airline delays and cancelations, long wait times at the airport, and the pressure of rushing to make your flight in time – traveling can certainly be a stressful activity.

And while it’s only natural to get frustrated when things don’t go as planned, some people have taken their anger a little too far – erupting into fierce fits of rage and having explosive meltdowns at the airport or on a plane.

Over the last year, there’s been quite a few freak outs which involved passengers threatening airline employees, cursing out staff, screaming at the top of their lungs and sometimes, even getting physical.

Recently, a woman was arrested at a Miami airport after police said she jumped behind the check-in desk, grabbed the computer and threw it at a staff member – all of which, was captured on video and shared to social media.

On another occasion, a lady got up on top of the counter and punched someone from the crew after she was told she was too late to check-in for her flight.

And a different time, an alleged confrontation broke out between a passenger and a flight attendant – which resulted in hospitalizations – after she was reportedly told her child wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom during landing.

Here’s a look back at the most intense and wild travel tantrums.

Camilia McMillie, 25, who was set to take an American Airlines flight from Miami to New York City, was in the process of checking in at the gate when her two children walked off on their own.

Police said Camilia became ‘irate’ and ‘began to scream’ when she realized that her kids were gone, with a witness also telling WSVN that she went into ‘panic mode.’

Camilia started to frantically search for her children – who it turns out, had gone to the bathroom – and demanded that a gate agent help her find them.

The mother then started chucking things like a keyboard, the boarding pass reader and even a computer screen – which hit an airline employee in the shoulder – destroying the area and equipment in the process, according to investigators.

Stunned onlookers videotaped the dramatic incident – and footage of the encounter quickly went viral on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

A police affidavit said the woman caused more than $10,000 in damages in total, and caused a bruised right shoulder for the American Airlines staffer.

Camilia, who is from Birmingham, has been charged with aggravated battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. CBS News reported that her bond was set at $4,500.

‘Acts of violence against our team members are not tolerated by American Airlines and we are committed to working closely with law enforcement in their investigation,’ the airline said in a statement afterwards.

‘Our thoughts are with our team member, and we are ensuring they have the support they need at this time.’

Camilia told Local 10 News she was ‘sorry’ over the incident.

Back in November, a couple who reportedly tried to avoid paying an extra fee for their baggage ran onto a plane without scanning their boarding passes – and when flight staff asked them to get off the aircraft, they erupted into a screaming fit of rage.

According to a fellow passenger, named Nikki, the duo – who have not been identified – allegedly realized they were going to be charged extra by Frontier Airlines because their carry-on luggage was slightly oversized on a recent flight from Denver to Dallas.

So Nikki told the New York Post that they ‘bolted through and skipped bag measures and boarding pass scanning.’

The pair was then asked to leave the plane by flight workers, but when they ‘refused,’ the staff said everyone was going to have to deplane.

Soon, an argument broke out between the two people who had allegedly snuck onto the plane and the other passengers, which ultimately ended with police being called.

Nikki shared a clip of the incident to her Instagram account and it left many people on the web furious over their behavior.

‘How my Frontier trip experience went last night,’ she began in the video, before showing the pair sitting in silence and completely ignoring the stewardess’ request for them to leave the aircraft.

People could be heard yelling at them to ‘get off the plane’ before one of the people started screaming back: ‘We paid for a ticket just like y’all.’

Nikki told the Post that they were eventually escorted off by police.

‘The client was denied the trip, and she became rebellious and physically abusive with the ground staff – so it was necessary for airport security and police to intervene,’ it said.

‘I am! Shut the f**k up,’ the woman said before throwing a water bottle. ‘Turn your f**king phone off.’

‘Anyone can record anything. You just struck a passenger with a bottle,’ the flight attendant told her. ‘No one who acting this way flies on a flight with us.’
